Gmail:
Have you tried gmail, new free email offered by Google? All Blogger users (another Google service) can create and try Gmail. So, I decided to see what has this new service. Tip: many nice email names are available since this service is not public yet. Wednesday, April 28, 2004
RSS in browsers:
This news is old ("Opera Adds IRC, RSS To Browser"), but still interesting. So, Opera added support for RSS. Next version of IE, I'm sure, will include also support for RSS. It's just a matter of time when this new version will be launched. According to Tony Schreiner's WebLog something is happening for IE, too. Saturday, April 17, 2004
RSS on iPod:
A new software made by iPodSoft.com called iPod Agent allows you to read RSS feeds on iPod. Actually this software can do much more. For other details and demo see this. Thursday, April 15, 2004
Atom2RSS caching:
A small change for Atom2RSS free service: pages are cached for 2 hours to reduce traffic. Until now all requests were downloaded from your site each time. By using cached files we hope to save bandwidth and still keep the service usable. Thanks for using it. Saturday, April 10, 2004
New articles:
I just posted 2 new articles on the site: - RSS Introduction - How to use RSS feeds? More will be published soon. We receive emails asking details about RSS and what really it is. So, I think such articles could be useful for those who just discovered RSS. Let me know what you think about these. Thanks. Wednesday, April 07, 2004
RSS feeds discontinued:
Almost every day we receive notifications about RSS feeds from our RSS directory that are no more available. Thanks you all for these notifications. The question is why this happen? Why webmasters choose to close RSS feeds from their site? The site is still there but they don't offer RSS feeds. It's all about traffic? Or? Friday, April 02, 2004
Google blocks RSS News scraping:
Interesting news from Google: they blocked RSS news scraping (http://www.internetnews.com/ec-news/article.php/3334651). It's well known that Google didn't fully embraced RSS. They support only Atom, another XML syndication format, for Blogger users (Google service). This can help our Atom2RSS service, offered for free for all Atom feeds.
